Rather than choosing a new home on someone else’s social network, can you use WordPress as a publishing hub for all your different networks? That’s what I’m trying today. You can read the explanation of why I’m exploring this option in the post I used to test Jetpack Social, which makes it easy to post from WordPress to a collection of external social networks.

A collection of screenshots titled, “Using WordPress + Jetpack as a social hub”. Text: I tested the WordPress Jetpack Social plugin to see how it crossposts to different social networks. Here’s what my 267- word, image-free post looked like across different networks. Original post is here: https://alexlov.es/jpstest
This is followed by renders snapped from 5 platforms: Mastodon provides the most detailed cross post, truncating at 85 words, followed by Threads at 79, and Bluesky with 43. LinkedIn shows only the post title. Facebook shows 85 words but an accompanying note reads “Note: Jetpack can only post to a Facebook page (like a business or author page), not a personal profile. That’s due to Facebook’s limitations, not Jetpack’s.” All 5 platforms include a link to the original post.
